Maintenance Director


POSITION OVERVIEW

The primary responsibility of the employee in this classification needs to have experience in several different construction fields - building construction, HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, and general building code knowledge.   This position is fast paced and can be stressful at times.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works with administration using a work order system to address immediate facility needs.

  • Work with administration on maintaining a 5-year facilities/maintenance plan

  • Work with administration handling emergency calls, before, during and or after hours.

  • Leads in-house maintenance projects.  They may be required to order required material for projects and

  • coordinate with vendors.

  • Maintain school grounds

  • Schedule semi and annual facility inspections

  • Maintain a work order system by responding to requests for service.

  • Take part in inclement weather planning with administration and materials as it relates to snow removal.

  • Monitor buildings' HVAC system daily checking for areas of concern.

  • Develop a preventive maintenance program with administration.

  • Sit in on-site construction progress meetings when necessary. 

  • Appropriate safety precautions to be used at all times while performing job duties.

  • Operates hand tools, power tools and equipment necessary to complete assigned tasks.

  • Maintains tools and machinery in good condition.  Uses all tools carefully and as instructed.

  • Is expected to perform job duties of all building maintenance positions.

  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience

A minimum of a High School Diploma or GED required. Preference would be for a minimum of 5 years work experience in facilities maintenance.
